As technology has grown and evolved so has the way we use it. In an article – published on the website of The Economist entitled ‘The Third Industrial Revolution’ – the following was pointed out:
- The first industrial revolution saw the mechanisation of previously manual processes,
- The second industrial revolution saw the introduction of mass production,
- The third industrial revolution introduced new and innovative technologies such as 3D printers, the likes of which had never been seen before, and finally,
- The fourth industrial revolution – which is upon us – sees the computers and digital technology that were developed in the third industrial revolution characterised by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between physical, digital and biological and having a greater impact on our lives.
With the rise of artificial intelligence, we are going to see the benefits that technology can have on our daily lives and business. Computers will no longer merely give us reams and reams of information. They will package this data in a way for us that we can use. This is already happening and – a case in point – is Geopointe.
What is Geopointe?
Geopointe allows you to combine any geolocated data with your risk data, layer it on top of each other and, from this, to generate new unique insights. This information is neatly presented to you in the form of a Google Map.
What are the benefits of Geopointe?
The greatest benefit of this software – which is built on the Salesforce platform – is its ability to generate geographically specific insights in relation to the risk data you input for your business.
Large corporates who have multiple assets globally can layer the position of their assets on top of risk and/or hazard located data to provide valuable insights into the risk profile of regions or areas.
Geopointe is equally as beneficial to smaller insurance brokers who can input all the risk data that they have obtained from their clients. From this they can draw specific insights based on the location of their various clients’ assets and properties.
Newly introduced in South Africa, Geopointe has seen much success in other countries such as the United States, where the solution has been used successfully in diverse environments.
